 New Managing Director appointed at Mazda New Zealand

After 25 years at Mazda New Zealand, ten of those as Managing Director, Andrew Clearwater is stepping down from his position. His replacement will be the company’s current financial controller David Hodge.
 
Hodge has been with the company since 1998 and says he is excited about his new appointment.
 
“I’m looking forward to stepping into the MD role and plan to continue the fantastic job that Andrew has done.”
 
In addition to his role as financial controller Hodge has worked with dealers as a Business Development Manager (BDM) as well as managing the company’s HR and IT departments.
 
Clearwater says Hodge’s experience across several areas of the business make him the ideal person to lead the business.
 
“He has a great team at Mazda New Zealand’s head office along with a very strong dealer network that will support him as he transitions into the MD role.
 
“I have enjoyed my years at Mazda and I’m amazed at how much the company has grown since I started in 1992.
 
“The time is right for me to move into the next phase of my life and I am confident that David will do an outstanding job.”
 
Hodge will move into the role of MD of Mazda New Zealand from 3 April.
 
Hodge will also take over Clearwater’s position as chairman of the Mazda Foundation while Clearwater will remain on as a Trustee.
